Upupa was born in Petralona from something simple: the desire to create a place with atmosphere, character and genuine hospitality.
A spot that naturally fits into your day — from morning to late — for coffee, drinks, music and good company.
Built with people, not speed
Marfi, Renos and Petros each proght their own experianceand perspective. Instead of building something fast they chose to build something with foundations — something meant to last.
Because good places aren’t rushed. They’re shaped.
From Old to Bold

The building itself is pre-1955, a true piece of old Athens. Petros, as a Civil Engineer, undertook the restoration and structural reinforcement of the space, so it could stand strong and work perfectly — without losing its original character.
Then, together with his partners and decorator Alexis Petrakis, they shaped the decor with the same mindset: honest materials, thoughtful lighting, and details that don’t shout — they simply win you over from the moment you step inside.
Upupa is a place made with care — meant to be lived in, every day, and always worth returning to.
